I am not a doom sayer. I am not one of those doomsday folks who has a bunker with six years worth of canned food and water and secretly hoping for that world changing event just so I can say, ‘I told you so’. I am however a realist and I have a lot of respect for Ted Koppel.
Most people who grew up with the Internet probably won’t remember who Koppel is but he is someone who journalistically commands a great deal of respect. So when Koppel decides to write about about a cyber attack that could take out the power grid I listen. I heard what he has to say and the part that made me start slowly buying water and non-perishable food is when, as Koppel tells it, the Director of Homeland Security pointed to binders in a shelf and said ‘I’m sure we have a plan in there somewhere.’
