You cannot have a debate about security, intelligence, terrorism or privacy without bringing in former CIA and NSA Director Michael Hayden into the conversation. Whether you agree with him or not, he is an individual who was a player on every major and controversial decision for over a decade (1999-2009) in this country.
Think for a minute about all of things he was a part of creating or authorizing. Drone strikes, waterboarding, PRISM, Stuxnet, etc. These are massive turning points in America’s history in how it collects intelligence and how it acts on that intelligence inside and outside of war.
Funny thing, with the Apple vs FBI case about the San Bernardino shooters iPhone, Hayden says FBI Director James Comey is wrong. Didn’t see that one coming.
Hayden has a new book coming out, ‘Playing to the Edge’, and was featured on CBS Sunday Morning, While I disagree with Hayden at times I do respect him and the job he had to do while at the CIA, NSA and Cyber Command.
In short, been waiting for this book for a while and can’t wait to read it.
