Look, I haven’t been following the election. I think it’s great that either a black man will be President or a woman will be Vice President. I think Obama gives out hope and I think McCain has proven his courage and independence. Personally I think an Obama McCain ticket would be great.

In the end however you have to choose one, so I start with Obama.

Obama has some good ideas. However some of his ideas are the same old fear mongering. Example, his economic plan includes a "windfall profits tax" on oil companies. Why? Exxon has an operating profit margin of 15.72%. Google has an operating margin of 30.02%. Granted Exxon beats Google in year-over-year growth and in quarterly revenue growth. However Exxon also employ’s 107,000 plus people while Google employs about 20,000. Where’s our "windfall search engine tax"?

Obama wants to give tax breaks to companies that keep jobs in America and pays them a good wage. Well, why not give tax breaks to foreign companies who bring jobs here? And what is a good wage? No one I know is getting paid enough except for yours truly.

I always think of the big 3 Detroit automakers when politicians talk about this jobs going overseas bit. Ford, GM and Chrysler, they’re doing just awesome aren’t they! They took a bath on protecting the American worker. Paying massive amounts for healthcare and pensions. Now they need government loans that some think they may default on so that they can compete with other car makers from overseas. Meanwhile the "foreign" car makers like Honda and Toyota have been opening plants and bringing jobs to North America. Look at BMW. Their only foreign plant, is in Spartanburg, SC. That’s right, a German company brought manufacturing jobs to America. Shocking I know.

Deploy Next-Generation Broadband: Barack Obama and Joe Biden believe we can get broadband to every community in America through a combination of reform of the Universal Service Fund, better use of the nation’s wireless spectrum, promotion of next-generation facilities, technologies and applications, and new tax and loan incentives.

The above is in the Obama and Biden economic plan. Granted it’s a start but could it be anymore vague?

I don’t know. I like some of their economic plan but not all of it. I think their "vision" is still based in an industrialized economy with dashes of a global information one. It seems written by politicians. It tries to hard to satisfy everyone.

In the end, Obama’s recent statement’s on the bailout plan show me that he is thinking about this problem a little and that he realizes the severity of the current economic crisis.
